System IBS (In-Building System)

System IBS (In Building system) is the system enhances the quality of coverage in the high-rise buildings by establishing a system of antenna dispersion. To improve call quality in the building there is a large area, the IBS system are required to invest to meet the needs of customers. The system consists of the station micro BTS is installed in the technical room of the building and the amplifier will be mounted on the ceiling or the floor to ensure all the building have wave mobile quality assurance to set up calls in a stable manner.

Reasons to invest in IBS (In-Building System)

  • Due to buildings having heights beyond the coverage area of ​​outdoor BTS transceiver stations;
  • Due to the multi-layered structure of the building, thick concrete walls… the signal quality is reduced and some locations have no signal.
  • This results in the inability to establish calls, or unstable call quality, causing inconvenience to customers living and working in the building.

IBS implementation solutions

Traditional solution:

  • Use 7/8” and 1/2” feeder cables to transmit signals.
  • Suitable for small and medium sized buildings (under 25 floors, area under 100,000 m²).
  • Advantages: easy to install, fast deployment time.

Photochemical solution:

  • Use fiber optic cable along the axis to reduce signal loss.
  • The system is divided into small sections; each section uses a 7/8” feeder and an optical repeater to control the signal.
  • Suitable for large-scale buildings, over 30 floors high.

Connection between buildings:

  • Close distance: use feeder cable and amplifier.
  • Long distance or complex: use fiber optic cable for connection.

Connect to multiple carriers:

  • The IBS system can integrate multiple carriers through the POI (Point of Interface) set, providing simultaneous coverage for all carriers.
